Gunslinger Skill Trees and Abilities Guide

Star Wars the Old Republic is a brand new MMO that takes place in the Star Wars Universe. Players can choose between different characters such as Sith, Jedi, Imperial Agents, Bounty Hunters, Troopers, and Smugglers. Within each character types, there are two more advanced classes that players can choose. For example, in the Smuggler class you can choose between a Scoundrel and a Gunslinger. Each class has its own advancement skill tree and abilities. Lets go more in depth with the Star Wars The Old Republic Gunslinger class:

A SWTOR Gunslinger starts out as a smuggler but focuses on specific skills such as dual pistols, quick draw, fast attacks, ranged DPS, and Cover. Star Wars the Old Republic then goes on to make each character more unique by creating advancement trees that further specialize your characters skill set. For a SWTOR Gunslinger there are three skill tress: Saboteur, Sharpshooter, and Dirty Fighting.

A Saboteur Gunslinger plays a more passive role and focuses more on using bombs and charges to inflict major damage. Two known skills that can be gained from following this tree are Overload Charges and Stun Bombs. Overload charges can be used to overload any nearby shock charges. This deals out a decent amount of kinetic damage to all affected targets. The Stun Bombs skill makes sure that all targets hit with flash grenades have a 100% chance to be stunned for two seconds.

The Sharpshooter skill tree focuses more on causing damage from a distance and then successfully ducking for cover. Both skills obtained from this tree are also passive. The two skills learned are Exploit Weakness and Surprise Attack. Exploit Weakness does exactly what its name implies. It takes advantage of enemies recently hit by a pistol ability and allows players to use the Quick Draw ability. With the Surprise Attack skill, using the Rolling into Cover function will remove the casting time on the next Charged Burst used.

The final Star Wars the Old Republic Gunslinger skill tree is Dirty Fighting. Dirty Fighting is the intermediary between Saboteur and Gunslinger. The two skills associated with this tree are Heightened Evasion and Cold Blooded. Heightened Evasion reduces the cool down of Dodge by 30 seconds and gives Dodge a 30% chance to grant the Smuggler a speed boost. Cold Blooded causes bleed effects to do a quarter more damage against targets that are low on health.

So you’re struggling to level up a Star Wars the Old Republic Gunslinger. For those that don’t know what a SWTOR Gunslinger is, it is an advanced Smuggler in the massive MMORPG or (multiplayer online role playing game) called Star Wars The Old Republic. The game has soared to infamous heights within the gaming community.

The game originally kicked off in the fall of 08, and early players were allowed to play only by invitation. It wasn’t until late 2011 that Windows users would finally have access to this game as well.
